Chapter Handbook

Everything a new Impact Lynk chapter lead needs — from setting up your team to running your first event, building nonprofit partnerships, and keeping your chapter active year after year.

What Is an Impact Lynk Chapter?

An Impact Lynk chapter is a student-led community service program operating within a high school. Each chapter is organized and run by a small team of student leaders with oversight from a school advisor.

Chapter Leadership Roles

Every chapter needs at least one student Chapter Lead and one School Advisor. The Chapter Lead manages day-to-day activity, recruiting, and nonprofit relationships. The School Advisor provides adult oversight and approves hour submissions.

Starting a Chapter: Step by Step

Contact Impact Lynk to begin setup. We will create your school's account, assign a chapter code, and walk your advisor through onboarding. Recruit founding members, partner with at least one local nonprofit, and hold a kickoff meeting within two weeks.

Kickoff Meeting Agenda

A 30-minute agenda: welcome and introductions (5 min), platform overview (10 min), live demo showing how to log in and find events (7 min), first event sign-up before leaving the room (5 min), Q&A (3 min).

Event Planning Checklist

Before events: confirm details with the nonprofit partner, post the event two weeks in advance, send a reminder 48 hours before. After events: remind students to submit hour logs within 48 hours, send a thank-you to the nonprofit contact.

Managing Service Hours

Students submit hours via their dashboard. School advisors review and approve submissions. All approved hours can be exported at any time as a formatted spreadsheet for transcript offices and district administrators.
